For Participants:
Litera's outreach opportunities are currently being offered in the following format:

Weekly open-registration speaking clubs hosted based on Litera volunteer availability.

Operating as an academic year initiative (September through May) with summer offerings based on volunteer availability.

Three-phase expansion/roll out plan carried out over the next year to expand our offerings and activities.
Current:
Weekly Adult Speaking Clubs
Weekly Speaking Clubs Eligibility:

Any English language learner at least 18 years of age.
Weekly Speaking Club Format:
-
Meetings are 30 minutes or 1 hour per week based on Litera volunteer availability.

Weekly sign up sheet released online & via email on Friday before the week of meetings.

Discussion topics and level information posted on the sign up sheet.

Maximum of 15 language learners per group.

Spots are available each week on a first come, first serve basis.
Coming Fall 2024:
Teacher Training Groups
Teacher Training Groups Eligibility:

Any teacher working with elementary, middle, or high school students.
Planned Format:

Organized lectures given by speakers/faculty from Cornell University

Proposed Fall 2024 / Spring 2025:
Children's Speaking Clubs
Children’s Speaking Clubs Eligibility:

Any English language learner between the ages of 8 and 17.

Children will need to receive consent to participate from parent or guardian.
Planned Format:

Small group speaking classes lead by volunteers that are cleared by the university to work with children/minors
